Who we are

Anvesh is run by Dr Sushma Ramesh Rao, an independent researcher in Victoria, Australia. Questions or requests about your information: hello@anvesh.app.

The short version

  • We collect as little as we can. We never sell your information, and we never share it with anyone for their own use.
  • You can browse this website without giving us anything. It sets no cookies and uses no analytics or tracking.
  • Anvesh is for research data, not personal data. Please never send us anything that identifies a person, or any health or genetic information about one.

What we collect, and why

1. When you browse this website

Nothing that identifies you. The site sets no cookies and runs no analytics, advertising or tracking. Its fonts are served from our own server. Our hosting provider's servers handle the basic network traffic needed to send you the pages. Our web server keeps no record of your visits. Its technical error messages can sometimes include a visitor's internet address; they are kept in a small log that overwrites itself as it fills, and are cleared whenever the service is updated.

2. When you send us your dataset for a trial

If you email us at hello@anvesh.app about a dataset, we use your name, your facility or institution and the dataset's identifier to reply about it, and we send you Anvesh updates only if you ask for them. Your email reaches us as described in item 6.

3. The dataset itself (if you then send us one)

  • Published or fully de-identified data only, never patient data.
  • We use your data only to prepare your result, and delete our copies within 15 days of sending it.
  • Your data is not added to the Ananta database or sent to any AI service.

4. When you use the demo

Your demo code is personal to you. Each time it is used, we record:

  • the code and who we issued it to;
  • when it was first and last used, and how many times;
  • a random ID kept in your browser, so each code works on at most two browsers.

We use this only to run the 7-day demo and to stop codes being shared. Molecules and values you paste into the demo are held in memory for your session only: they are not written to disk, not kept after your session, and not sent to any AI service.

5. If you send feedback from the demo

The form is voluntary. Name and email are optional; if you give them, we use them only to reply. Your answers are kept on our server in Australia and also emailed to us. On the way they pass through our form provider, Formspree (United States), and our email provider, Google (United States).

6. If you email us (hello@anvesh.app)

Your message is forwarded by our email routing provider, Cloudflare (United States), to our inbox at Google (United States). We use it only to reply.

You don't have to give your name

You can browse the site, use a demo code and send feedback without giving your name.

AI

  • The demo and the dataset service send nothing to any AI service.
  • Anvesh's database was built from the published literature with AI assistance.
  • Each shown connection is marked with its source, and links to it where Anvesh holds one, so you can read it yourself. Anvesh can contain errors.

Automatic steps

Our research features make no decisions about people. Two account steps are automatic: a demo code stops working 7 days after first use, and on a third browser. If you think one of these went wrong, email us and a person will look at it.

Who else handles your information

We use these providers only to run Anvesh on our behalf:

  • DigitalOcean, which hosts the demo on servers in Sydney (DigitalOcean is a US company);
  • Formspree (United States), the demo feedback form;
  • Cloudflare (United States), which forwards email sent to hello@anvesh.app;
  • Google (United States), our email inbox.

Some of them are outside Australia, so your information may be held in the United States.

How long we keep it

Keeping it safe

  • Connections to the site and the demo are encrypted (HTTPS).
  • The server is reached only with security keys, not passwords.
  • Demo codes are long random codes, limited to two browsers.
  • We hold no passwords and no payment details.
  • If a data breach is likely to cause serious harm, we will follow the steps of the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme, telling the people affected and the regulator, even where the law does not require it.

Updates by email

We email you about Anvesh only if you ask us to. Every such email names us and has an unsubscribe link that works within 5 business days.

Your choices

  • You can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it: email hello@anvesh.app.
  • If you are unhappy with how we handled it, tell us first. The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au) may also be able to help.

Children

Anvesh is for researchers and is not directed at anyone under 18.

Changes

We will update this page when how we handle information changes, and show the date at the top.
